Beachfront "Bliss"

Literally right on the beach and with stunning views of Pittwater come and relax, rewind and rejuvenate.  Built in 1961 by the Anderson family it was the first purpose built beach house on Great Mackerel Beach - they called it "Bliss" - come and visit and you will see why!  Your hosts Geoff and Mark purchased it off the Andersons and have lovingly restored it and kept its 60's charm. Check out our Instagram feed and follow us on the socials!

What is Bliss?

Bliss is literally right on the beach at Mackerel Beach with the perfect North-East aspect.  There is a regular ferry and water taxi service but for that special treat you can catch the barge or punt from Barrenjoey Boating Services right to the front steps of Bliss.  There are 3 bedrooms with the master bedroom forming a parents' retreat with its own deck and bathroom.  Bliss has one of the only two boat-sheds still allowed on Mackerel Beach with kayaks, blow up floaties, weights and bench and (if you must) the boat-shed is the perfect home office (just don't let your zoom participants see the view!). It also has everything you need for cocktails or BBQ's on the beach!

This is the perfect spot to relax, rewind and take a pause from life.  If you get some energy there are fantastic hikes in the National Park or go kayaking around Pittwater - our favourite is an early morning kayak across to Palm Beach for an egg and bacon roll and a coffee at the Boathouse Bakery!

While we love Bliss this may not be the place for everyone, this is a true getaway - if you want spas, 5 star luxe and celebrities - Palm and Whale beach are probably more for you.  Be at one with nature and the chilled lifestyle of Mackerel Beach.

Where is Bliss?

Under an hour from central Sydney to Palm Beach and then a short ferry, barge or water-taxi straight across Pittwater to Great Mackerel beach and "Bliss".  The house is just a walk along the sand with your wheelbarrow full of goodies for your stay - there are no shops at Great Mackerel Beach so everything must be bought with you.  Bliss has the basic condiments to enable you to cook up a storm or just throw some food on the barbie for the simple life.
