Cala Joncols - Spain

Rustic Resort in Spain - one of our many inspirations for Mackerel.

In 2011, after a big week in Barcelona, Geoff and I headed up the coast towards the French border and found the eco-resort Cala-Joncols. Very rustic and basic and fabulous ... its been renovated since then but still seems to keep its charm.

Memories

Bliss at Great Mackerel Beach is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom absolute beachfront holiday house sleeping up to six guests. Built in 1961 and restored with respect for its original mid-century character, it has direct all-tide sandy beach access and a private boatshed - which is your own private beach club.
