Getting across to Bliss

Once you get to Palm Beach you have quite a few options for getting across to Bliss. If we have a lot of supplies we like getting the barge or punt right to the beach in front of the house.

Getting Across to Bliss

Parking at Palm Beach
Council has introduced parking charges at the two car parks near the Palm Beach Wharf and you cannot pay for long term parking at these parks. It’s best to drop your gear and supplies off and then find unrestricted parks either near the Palm Beach Wine Company or up on Sunrise Road a little further on from the ferry.

Ferry
The ferry “Myra” leaves on the hour from Palm Beach Wharf on Barrenjoey Road and leaves Mackerel on the half hour. Check the timetable at the Palm Beach Ferry Company (run by Fantasea Ferries). Arrive well in advance of the ferry time to allow time for parking and taking your goods to the ferry.

Palm Beach Water Taxi
A quick option is the Palm Beach Water Taxi but it is best to ring ahead to see how busy they are – we generally ring when we get to Avalon. Guy usually works 7am to 6pm most days and can be booked outside of these hours for an additional fee. The number is 0415408831

Barge or Punt (Barrenjoey Boating Services)

If there are a few of you and you have a lot of luggage and supplies (remember Mackerel is very informal you will not need many clothes) the barge is a worthwhile option as it can pull up on the beach right in front of Bliss. The number is 0416218868 or 99744229 and advise that you are going to Mark & Geoff’s house with the black boatshed.

Conditions permitting you can be picked up at the Palm Beach Wharf or you can go down to the Boat Shed at Governor Philip Park and book the barge at “Alf’s Bait Shop” – the one made famous by “Home & Away” – you may be photographed by British tourists.
